Generations of Sugar!

Howdy Sugar! may be new, but our story began years ago with my grandmother, Betty.

In Maracaibo, Venezuela, she sold cakes, bread, muffins, brazo gitano, and other baked goods to her neighbors. When she moved to Miami in the 1990s, she took the first job she could find at a gas station before finding her way back to her passion at a bakery. Her talent for baking and cake decorating eventually led her to open her own successful business, Betty Cakes!

My grandmother was the heart of our family. When she passed away on December 2, 2024, she left us with countless memories—and left me with a passion I could carry forward. Her favorite character, Betty Boop, now sits in our logo as a little reminder of the woman who inspired it all.

I’m Valeria Romero, a Miami-born daughter of Venezuelan immigrants, now living in Greenville, Texas. I started Howdy Sugar! to honor my grandmother while building something of my own, bringing together my love for baking, creativity, and making people feel special.

From cinnamon rolls and mini cakes to cake pops and chocolate-covered strawberries, every order is made with care. Whether you’re celebrating something big or craving a little sweetness, I’m happy to be part of it.

Welcome to Howdy Sugar! Delicious sweets, even sweeter service, and a little piece of Betty’s legacy in everything we do.
